About the TA1
The Schroder TA-1 tonearm, designed by Frank Schröder, incorporates a unique Raised Hyper Ceramic Bearing technology with two separate ceramic ball bearings controlling horizontal and vertical movements independently, resulting in exceptionally low friction (< 2mg). It is available in 9" (TA-1) and 12" (TA-1L) versions, with effective lengths around 286mm for the 12" model. The armwand is made from Kingwood or ebony, treated to resist warping and humidity changes. The tonearm features adjustable azimuth, vertical tracking angle (VTA), vertical tracking force (VTF), anti-skating, and armtube resonance, all well integrated and hidden within the arm. It uses a continuous high-purity copper wire from headshell to RCA/XLR outputs, minimizing signal degradation. The TA-1 mounts using a Rega-style collar and includes a headshell with a slot for fine cartridge alignment. The price is approximately for the 9" version and for the 12" version. The arm is manufactured by Artemis Labs in the USA under license, offering availability advantages over other Schroder arms.
