The Revox C270 is a professional reel-to-reel tape recorder manufactured in Switzerland, designed for super high fidelity consumer applications. It features a three-motor drive system with electronic speed control, supporting tape speeds of 9.5 cm/s, 19 cm/s, and 38 cm/s, with varispeed adjustment from -33% to +50%. The unit accommodates reels up to 10.5 inches (26.5 cm) in diameter and can be operated vertically or horizontally. It has a fully modular audio electronics design for ease of maintenance and long-term reliability. The C270 offers a frequency response of 30 Hz to 22 kHz at 38 cm/s, with total harmonic distortion below 0.6% at the highest speed. Signal-to-noise ratios are better than 65 dB at 38 cm/s. Additional features include a real-time tape counter with zero and address locator functions, one-hand cueing editing mode under full servo control, and an RS232 interface for remote control of drive and audio functions. The unit weighs approximately 23 kg and measures 48.2 x 44.3 x 20.2 cm. It was produced between 1988 and 1991 and is no longer in production.
