The Monitor Audio Gold 50 bookshelf speaker delivers outstanding clarity and lifelike detail with a 2-way driver design consisting of a 5.5-inch C-CAM woofer with Rigid Surface Technology (RST) and a close-tolerance C-CAM ribbon high-frequency transducer. It features an ultra-rigid, lightweight ceramic-coated aluminum/magnesium cone for high efficiency and low distortion. The bass-reflex ported cabinet uses HiVe II technology to reduce port turbulence and enhance airflow. The speaker cabinet is heavily braced and curved for increased rigidity and reduced internal standing waves, with a single bolt-through driver attachment for mechanical decoupling and improved clarity. It supports bi-amp/bi-wire capability with dual gold-plated five-way binding post terminals and is internally wired with specialized Pureflow Silver cable. The Gold 50 has a frequency response of 55 Hz to 60 kHz, sensitivity of 86 dB, impedance of 8 ohms, and recommended amplifier power of 50-100 watts. Dimensions are approximately 6-11/16" W x 11-13/16" H x 11-7/16" D, weighing 16.5 lbs each. It comes with a 5-year warranty and optional dedicated stands for enhanced performance. The newer 6G version features a 6-inch HDT C-CAM woofer and MPD III ribbon tweeter, with a frequency response of 44 Hz to 60 kHz, sensitivity of 85 dB, and 4-ohm impedance, designed for higher power handling (130-300 watts).
