About the DD-40

The Micro Seiki DD-40 is a 2-speed direct-drive turntable using a DC servo motor with FG (Frequency Generator) servo control for improved torque and precise speed stability at 33⅓ and 45 rpm. Its factory-fitted MA-505 (Mk I) dynamic-balance tonearm uses a spring-applied tracking force mechanism with a tungsten wire system, designed to maintain long-term accuracy and accommodate low-mass cartridges in the 4–8 g range. A 32 cm die-cast aluminum platter and a solid Palisander-rose finished pressboard plinth with large shock-absorbing feet are employed to minimize resonance and acoustic feedback, supporting low wow & flutter (≤0.028%) and a signal-to-noise ratio of ≥62 dB.
