About the 30.7

The Magnepan 30.7 is Magnepan's highest-performance loudspeaker, a giant four-panel (two panels per side), four-way, ribbon/quasi-ribbon line source design. It consists of a large bass/lower-midrange panel and a narrower midrange/tweeter panel per speaker, built in mirror-image pairs for optimized setup. Key features include highly coherent wave-launch, free-standing imaging, vast soundstage, phenomenal resolution, lightning transient response, natural timbre, and no box coloration or diffraction. It uses two quasi-ribbon bass drivers, a transitional line-source lower-midrange driver, an ultra-low-mass quasi-ribbon midrange, and a pure-ribbon tweeter, with phase-coherent first-order crossovers and adjustable midbass control. Available finishes include wood frames (natural or black solid oak, dark cherry) or aluminum (silver, black, red, blue), and fabric (off-white, black, dark grey).
