About the Erodion EVO
The Lyra Erodion EVO is a passive moving-coil step-up transformer (MC-SUT), designed primarily for Lyra low-output, low-impedance cartridges and suitable for other MC cartridges with approximately 2–10 ohms internal impedance. Its 1:20 transformer ratio provides 26 dB of voltage gain, allowing a compatible MC cartridge to feed a conventional MM phono input or phono stage with an input load of approximately 10–47 kOhms. The unit requires no power supply. It uses a captive, Lyra-designed low-capacitance 60 cm PhonoPipe output cable with RCA connectors and includes a two-position grounding selector for chassis-grounded or floating-ground operation; Lyra recommends the floating-ground position in typical installations. The Erodion EVO is housed in a compact enclosure supported by three stainless-steel spikes.
