About the Erodion EVO

The Lyra Erodion EVO is a passive MC step-up transformer that increases the signal voltage and output impedance of low-output, low-impedance moving coil cartridges to levels compatible with moving magnet phono inputs. It is especially designed for Lyra's SL (Single-Layer coil) MC cartridges such as Kleos SL, Etna Lambda SL, and Atlas Lambda SL, but also works well with any low-impedance cartridge between 2 and 10 ohms. The Erodion EVO delivers 26dB gain (20 times), has a frequency range of 10 to 100,000 Hz, and offers wider bandwidth and dynamic range than typical step-up transformers, resulting in a sonic performance that lies between an active head amp and a conventional step-up transformer. It produces less noise and fewer electronic artifacts than most phono stages, enhancing musicality and detail. The unit includes an integrated Lyra-designed low-capacitance Phono Pipe output cable (60cm/2ft) and features two switchable grounding positions, with floating ground recommended. It requires no external power supply and is built with three stainless steel spikes for stability.
