The Lexicon MC-8 Balanced V2 is an upgraded version of the MC-8, featuring enhancements such as the latest version of 5.1 LOGIC7, Dolby PLIIx, and Lexicon Live, which enhances the listening environment by simulating a larger acoustic space. It supports multiple audio formats, including Dolby Digital Surround EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS ES Discrete and Matrix, and THX Ultra 2. The device includes eight configurable analog inputs, allowing for various configurations such as 5.1-channel and stereo inputs. It also features balanced audio outputs for all channels, reducing potential interference in audio systems. The MC-8 Balanced V2 is equipped with four 32-bit Analog Devices SHARC DSP engines for processing power and a separate Cirrus Logic DSP engine for compressed audio sources. It lacks modern amenities like HDMI but is praised for its excellent sound quality and versatility.
