About the MC8
The Lexicon MC-8, based on the acclaimed MC-12, is an 8-channel digital controller designed for high-end home theater systems. It features four Analog Devices SHARC 32-bit DSP engines for processing at 96kHz/24-bit resolution, including Lexicon LOGIC7 decoding, bass/dialog enhancement, auto-azimuth correction, and support for Dolby Digital, dts-ES, THX Surround EX, and NEO:6. It offers 8 fully configurable analog inputs (configurable as stereo, 5.1, etc.), 8 digital audio inputs (4 optical, 4 coaxial), coaxial digital output for Zone 2, video switching with component/S-video/composite inputs and outputs, two 12V triggers, IR input, and two RS-232 ports for upgrades. Expandable with two internal slots. A balanced analog output version is available. There is a V2 software upgrade version. No longer manufactured.
