About the Kronzilla DX

The KR Audio Kronzilla DX is a high-power, dual-monoblock tube power amplifier using parallel KR T1610 triodes in single-ended pure Class A operation. Each monoblock is designed for approximately 100 watts RMS, with zero negative feedback and selectable 4- or 8-ohm speaker outputs. The design combines a MOSFET driver stage with the large KR T1610 output tubes and is intended for demanding loudspeakers. Published specifications vary slightly by source and production revision: the official KR Audio USA listing specifies 20 Hz–20 kHz bandwidth at -3 dB, 3% THD at rated output, 1 V RMS input sensitivity, and 47 kOhms input impedance. A later Kronzilla DX Purist specification lists a wider 20 Hz–40 kHz response, greater than 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio, approximately 6 damping factor, and auto-bias; these figures should not automatically be assumed to apply to every original DX unit.
