About the Kappa 8
The Infinity Kappa 8 is a 4-way floor-standing speaker system introduced in 1987 and discontinued in 1989. It features a 12-inch cast frame L/C tuned woofer, a 5-inch polypropylene/graphite diaphragm mid-bass coupler, a 3-inch edgewound voice coil polydome midrange driver, and an EMIT tweeter. The system has a nominal impedance of 4 to 6 ohms, a power rating of 50-250 watts RMS, and an efficiency of 89 dB at 1 watt/1 meter. Its frequency response ranges from 33 Hz to 45 kHz with crossover frequencies at 80 Hz, 800 Hz, and 4500 Hz. The speaker measures approximately 47.5 inches high, 20.8 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. Originally The grille is no longer available, and the system was designed for amplifiers delivering 50-250 watts per channel.
