About the 333B
The Scott 333B is an AM/FM multiplex stereo tuner introduced as an update to the 333 model. It features a built-in tube stereo multiplex unit and was produced in the mid-1960s. The 333B updated the styling of the 333 with silver-colored extruded aluminum front panels and brown plastic fluted knobs with caps. It uses a selenium rectifier for the B+ voltage, eliminating the 6X4 rectifier tube. The tuner includes 13 tubes covering AM and FM sections, including 6BA6, 6BE6, 6AU6, 6AV6, 12AT7, 6BL8, and 12AU7 tubes. It incorporates the "Sonic Monitor" feature from the Scott 350 FM/MPX design and supports reception of simulcast broadcasts (AM left/FM right). The 333B is regarded as one of the most flexible and finest AM/FM stereo multiplex tube tuners of its era. It weighs about 16 pounds and uses a wide "C" case/chassis. Production ended around September 1965.
