About H.H. Scott
H.H. Scott, founded by Hermon Hosmer Scott in 1947 in Maynard, Massachusetts, was a pioneering American manufacturer of high-fidelity (HiFi) audio components. The company introduced significant innovations in audio engineering, such as the Dynaural Noise Suppressor, the first wide-band FM tuner, and some of the earliest FM stereo multiplex tuners and receivers. H.H. Scott helped usher hi-fi audio into the home environment by building integrated tube and later solid-state amplifiers, tuners, and tuner-amplifier combinations. Production of U.S.-made Scott equipment ceased after the company faced financial difficulties in 1972, but its legacy remains a reference point in classic hi-fi audio history.
