The Grado PS1000, introduced in 2009, is the flagship model of Grado's Professional Series, designed to deliver precise and immersive sound with luxurious materials and innovative acoustic design. It features proprietary hybrid metal/mahogany enclosures that reduce resonance and ringing, vented diaphragms for spacious, low-distortion sound, and ultra-high purity long-crystal copper voice coil wire. The headphones have an open-back, around-the-ear design with large replaceable foam ear cushions and an adjustable leather headband for comfort. Drivers are matched to within 0.05 dB for excellent stereo imaging. The PS1000 is praised for its deep, authoritative bass with excellent texture, smooth and natural mids, and clear, extended treble. It offers a wide soundstage and freedom from coloration, making it suitable for critical listening and professional use. The headphones come with a 67-inch cable terminated with a 1/4" plug, plus adapters and extension cables.
