The Grado GS1000 headphones are part of Grado's Statement Series and represent a flagship model known for their exceptional sound quality and craftsmanship. They feature handcrafted mahogany earcups made from specially selected wood, which undergo an intricate curing process to optimize tonal quality and reduce resonance. The headphones use 50mm dynamic drivers with a vented diaphragm design, matched to within 0.05 dB for precise imaging. The drivers employ ultra-high purity long crystal oxygen-free copper voice coils and cables to ensure clear, dynamic sound with minimal coloration. The open-air design and large foam cushions create a virtual room around the ears, resulting in a large soundstage, excellent spatial separation, and a natural, airy listening experience. The GS1000s have a frequency response of 8 Hz to 35 kHz, impedance of 32 ohms, and sensitivity around 98-99.8 dB, making them easy to drive without requiring a powerful amplifier. They are lightweight and comfortable for extended listening sessions, though their open design means sound leaks out and they are not suited for noisy environments or travel. The headphones come with a 1-year warranty (excluding earpads) and use a 3.5mm connector with a 67-inch cable.
