The Focal Grand Utopia Be is a monumental 4-way bass reflex floorstanding loudspeaker designed for ultimate high-fidelity performance. It features a complex driver array including a 15" W-sandwich cone woofer with a 3" voice coil, an 11" W-sandwich cone woofer with a 2.5" voice coil, two 6.5" W-sandwich cone midrange drivers with 1.5" voice coils and focus plugs, and a pure beryllium inverted dome tweeter with a 3/4" coil. The crossover frequencies are set at 50Hz, 250Hz, and 2.5kHz with 24dB/octave slopes. The speaker offers a frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz (+/-3dB), a sensitivity of 92dB/2.8V/m, and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms (minimum 5 ohms). It can handle up to 500 watts of musical program power and is recommended to be driven by amplifiers of 50 watts or more, ideally bi-amplified. The cabinet design includes separate enclosures for each driver to avoid mechanical intermodulation and features the patented "Focus Time" design for optimal sound imaging. The speaker is large and heavy, measuring 68.5" H x 19.7" W x 30.7" D and weighing 462 lbs each. Finishes include natural, gold, or burgundy burr ash veneers with slate-gray metallic lacquer.
