The Esoteric X-03SE is a high-end Super Audio CD/CD player from around 2007-2008, featuring the premium VRDS-NEO transport mechanism with a rigid bridge chassis, duralumin platter, and Hall-effect three-phase motor for precise disc playback. It employs dual 24-bit Burr-Brown PCM1704 DACs per channel for stereo analog output, supporting both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR connections. Additional features include IEEE 1394/i.Link for multichannel digital output, external word clock input via BNC for jitter reduction, and digital outputs (coaxial, optical, NextGen). Renowned for its tank-like 23.6kg build quality, exceptional resolution, musicality, deep bass, PRAT, and dynamics, it excels with both CD and SACD formats, outperforming many contemporaries in transparency and realism. No longer manufactured.
