The English Electric 8Switch is an audiophile-grade 8-port gigabit Ethernet network switch designed specifically for high-performance music streaming. Produced by The Chord Company under the English Electric brand, it features a customised Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) with 0.1 ppm accuracy, which reduces jitter by up to 90% compared to standard switches. It includes dual electrical noise isolation circuits in both power supply and clock generation paths, an EMI absorber for further noise reduction, and a machined aluminum enclosure that shields against acoustic and electrical interference. Powered by an advanced medical-grade 5V SMPS wall-wart adapter with high efficiency (no-load consumption <0.075W) and protections against short circuit, overload, and over-voltage. The front panel has minimal pinpoint LEDs for power, alarm, and port status/speed. Supplied with a 75cm Chord Company C-Stream Ethernet cable. Ideal for reducing network noise impact on streaming audio quality from services or NAS.
