The English Electric 8Switch is an audiophile-oriented, eight-port Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for networked music and AV systems. It uses customised clocking, electrical-noise isolation, EMI absorption, a machined aluminium enclosure, and vibration-damping feet. The unit is intended to reduce noise and jitter-related issues in wired streaming networks, although its audible benefits are system-dependent and network data itself remains digitally error-checked. It is supplied with a medical-grade external switching power adapter and a 0.75 m Chord Company C-Stream Ethernet cable.
