About the 909-HI
The EMT 909-HI is a high-end 9-inch tonearm from EMT’s newer tonearm line, designed for 1/2" hi-fi cartridges. It uses precision bearing technology with an advanced tension-compensating mechanism, a fine-pitch threaded ring for VTA adjustment, contactless magnetic anti-skating, a counterweight with integrated VTF scale, and a rigid headshell with azimuth correction. EMT describes the arm as a precision-built design made from solid-machined parts, with stainless steel used for the base and an aluminium alloy for moving elements. The tonearm is available with a standard wire outlet or an optional 5-pin DIN connection. The $6,000 figure is the MSRP listed for the standard 20 cm wire-outlet version; the DIN version is listed at a higher MSRP in the source materials.
