About the 909

The EMT 909 is a re-engineered 9-inch tonearm introduced by EMT/HiFiction AD in 2022 as part of the modern 909/912 tonearm line. The 909-HI version uses a fixed headshell for standard 1/2" hi-fi cartridge mounting, while the Professional version uses EMT’s quick-coupling system for EMT Tondose cartridges; both are also offered with either fixed wire output or a 5-pin DIN connector. EMT and major reviewers describe the arm as a precision-bearing design with magnetic anti-skating, VTA adjustment, and a removable tonearm lift, and the product line is presented as current rather than discontinued.
