About the Aletha
The Dunlavy Aletha speaker features a distinctive hexagonal cabinet measuring 136 cm (52") tall and 41 cm (16") wide at its widest point. It uses a 25 cm (10") woofer mounted inside the cabinet firing directly towards the floor, loaded by the internal closed volume and a Helmholtz-like resonator for 360-degree bass radiation. The bass is crossed over below 100 Hz (cutoff at 80 Hz) to two 17 cm (6.5") bass/mid drivers and a 2.5 cm (1") fabric dome tweeter for high frequencies. The drivers are arranged in the "DAL way," ensuring perfect acoustic phase relationship and symmetrical radiation pattern with controlled diffraction. The Aletha is praised for its extremely musical, liquid, and detailed sound with a huge soundstage and natural tonal balance, allowing the music to "vanish" and be heard in its purest form without coloration.
