The dCS Varèse Mono DAC Pair comprises two dedicated mono digital-to-analog converters — one for the left channel and one for the right — designed to operate exclusively as part of the dCS Varèse Music System via the proprietary ACTUS (Audio, Control and Timing Unified System) connection to the Varèse Core. Each Mono DAC uses dCS's latest Differential Ring DAC architecture, Tomix and ACTUS technologies, and ultra-low-jitter local clocking to provide fully differential conversion and analog output on a per-channel basis, with balanced XLR outputs optimised for reference-grade performance. Sold as a matched left/right pair with two ACTUS cables included, the Varèse Mono DACs offload all DSP and streaming processing to the Core, functioning as dedicated high-precision conversion and analog output stages within the five-box Varèse Music System.
