About the Delius

The dCS Delius DAC is derived from the award-winning dCS Elgar Plus and designed to approach its ultimate performance at a lower parts cost. It features the patented dCS Ring DAC technology, which provides exceptional linearity and resistance to degradation over time or temperature changes. The Delius accepts digital audio streams up to 24bit/192kHz PCM and DSD 64x (2.822MHz) via multiple inputs including AES/EBU XLR, S/PDIF RCA, BNC, optical Toslink, and IEEE 1394 (Firewire). It offers digital volume and balance controls, allowing it to function as a digital preamplifier. The unit supports digital de-emphasis filtering digitally, ensuring accurate filter curves and easy software updates for new digital standards. It can also operate in Master Clock mode to reduce jitter by slaving the source transport to its clock. The analog outputs include balanced XLR and single-ended RCA connectors, with an output impedance of about 1 ohm and adjustable output voltage up to 6V. The Delius is known for superb resolution, excellent channel separation (over 100dB), and a frequency response extending beyond the audible range, making it a refined and detailed DAC with a fluid and spacious sound signature. Dimensions are approximately 46 x 6.8 x 42 cm, weighing 8.5 kg. The product is no longer supported with hardware upgrades but benefits from software updates.
