The Burmester 948 is a top-line power conditioner crafted to enhance the quality of power supply for high-end audio systems. It features patented active DC suppression circuitry that dynamically reduces superimposed DC components on the mains supply, which can cause hum and degrade sound quality. Additionally, it includes premium filters to eliminate high-frequency noise caused by modern electronic devices such as computers and TV sets. The unit is handmade in Burmester's Berlin factory, ensuring meticulous assembly and quality. Its design follows the classical Burmester aesthetic with a chrome front panel and larger dimensions, emphasizing its special status within the lineup. The front display alternates between showing current voltage and DC component levels and can be switched off. Four green LEDs indicate operating status.
