About Edison Manufacturing Company
The Edison Manufacturing Company was established by Thomas Edison in 1889 to manufacture and sell products such as the Edison-Lalande primary battery, batteries for telegraph, phonograph, dental, and medical equipment, kinetoscope films, and electric fans. It played a significant role in early film production and electric device manufacturing, with operations in New Jersey and New York. It ceased operations as a manufacturing company in 1911 after its assets were transferred to Thomas A. Edison, Inc., but remained in existence until its dissolution in 1926 as the holder of copyrights for Edison's pre-1911 motion pictures.
