About the Definition 6
The Zu Audio Definition 6 (also styled Definition Six) is a high-efficiency, full-range active/passive hybrid floorstanding loudspeaker, hand-built in the USA. Its main passive array uses two 10-inch Zu full-range drivers in a vertically aligned MTM-style configuration with a centrally positioned Eminence N151M high-frequency driver, while the low bass is handled by internally powered subwoofer sections. The system is designed around wide dynamic range, high sensitivity, phase-coherent radiation, and compatibility with low-power tube as well as solid-state amplifiers. Definition 6 uses onboard Hypex UcD v5 Class-D bass amplification, with user controls for subwoofer level, low-pass frequency, parametric-EQ gain/frequency, and phase. It retains the approximately 13 x 13 inch footprint of earlier Definition models but is taller at 54 inches without feet. The manufacturer’s current loudspeaker catalogue lists Definition 6, so it is still manufactured.
