About the Ibis
Zu Audio Ibis is a loudspeaker cable launched in 2002, designed to provide very high conductance despite its normal cable size. It is intended for use with all loudspeaker and amplifier applications, excelling in setups ranging from low power vacuum tube systems to high current demanding configurations. The cable offers a very linear and uniform tone response and high resolution, which can reveal system issues that might be masked by other cables. It aims to improve full bandwidth resolution, stereophonic recreation, dynamics, and texture without altering timbre, timing, phase, or frequency response. The Ibis cable was in production without change for about a decade before being superseded by the Zu Event-LC cable. The cable was designed to avoid using cable as a form of tone control, focusing instead on fidelity and accurate transmission of the amplifier's signal to the loudspeaker. The name 'Ibis' was chosen simply because it sounded cool, without a particular story behind it. The cable is no longer manufactured as it has been replaced by newer models.
