About the Druid IV

The Druid Mk IV/08 is a high-efficiency, direct-radiating floorstanding loudspeaker designed for high-fidelity home audio and theater use. It uses a crossover-less, full-range 10.3-inch driver covering most of the audible band, augmented by a high-output 1-inch dome super-tweeter, and loads the main driver in a tall cabinet employing Zu's ZuRG acoustic technology for extended bass and controlled resonance. Rated at around 101 dB/W/m with a nominal impedance in the 8–12 ohm range, it is particularly well-suited to low-power tube amplifiers but can also handle substantial power from solid-state amplifiers. The design emphasizes phase coherence and time alignment, contributing to a deep, stable soundstage and dynamic, realistic presentation when given adequate space from room boundaries.
