The Andros Deluxe Phonostage combines the best features of Zesto's Andros 1.2 and Tessera phonostages, maintaining its own unique sonic personality. It uses 12DW7 tubes in the output circuit, which are half 12AX7 and half 12AU7 tubes, with the 12AU7 half driving the output transformers for high current and low noise, enabling a true floating ground balanced output. The design includes large, high-quality MC step-up transformers with Mu-metal shielding for reduced noise and improved stereo imaging. The chassis is made of 16-gauge zinc-plated steel to isolate from electronic interference. It offers dual mono PCB design for better stereo separation, multiple gain settings, and adjustable MC loading from 20 to 1000 ohms. Inputs include MM and MC with both RCA and balanced XLR connectors, and outputs include transformer balanced XLR and single-ended RCA. The unit is hand-built in the USA, with a 50-hour factory burn-in on all circuits and tubes.
