About the CDT100

The CDT100 is a high-end top-loading CD player and transport from Ypsilon Electronics, engineered to retrieve data from CDs with maximum accuracy. It features a rigid, resonance-free construction using a sandwich of thick stainless steel and aluminum plates to minimize vibrations affecting the sensitive laser head. The mechanism is mechanically modified for optimized performance and vibration-free operation. It includes a non-oversampling DAC with multi-bit Burr Brown chips, powered by high-quality shunt regulators. The DAC's current output is level shifted and transformed into a voltage signal via an in-house manufactured c-core transformer, with a simple signal path involving only one low noise single-ended class A JFET and no feedback, resulting in superb sonic purity and transparency. The CDT100 offers three outputs: a 75-ohm SPDIF digital output (RCA), a pair of RCA analog outputs, and a Neutrik 5-pin analog current output designed for connection to the Ypsilon DAC-100 for ultimate performance. The unit is controlled primarily via a solid aluminum billet remote control, as it has minimal controls on the chassis itself. It measures 400 x 120 x 400 mm, weighs 20 kg, and consumes about 20 watts of power. The CDT100 is regarded as a world-class CD transport/player, especially when paired with the DAC-100.
