About the A08
The Yamamoto A-08 is a single-ended stereo power amplifier using 45 vacuum tubes for output and 717A tubes for input. It delivers approximately 2 watts per channel, designed to be paired with high-efficiency speakers. The amplifier features a simple but clever circuit with high-quality components, including custom-made transformers, capacitors, and tube sockets, all crafted in-house by Yamamoto Soundcraft. The chassis is made from hardened cherry wood, CNC machined for precision. The A-08 is praised for its transparency, purity of sound, and ability to reveal the characteristics of connected components. It is considered a purist's amplifier with a reputation comparable to top vintage 300B amplifiers, but with a unique sonic signature and a slightly drier, faster bass response. The amplifier is handmade in Japan and is highly regarded for its build quality and sonic integrity.
