About the T-1000
The Yamaha T-1000 is a high-quality AM/FM stereo tuner manufactured in Japan between 1983 and 1984. It features a digital synthesized tuning scale with FM tuning range from 87.5 to 108 MHz and AM from 510 to 1620 kHz. The tuner offers superb FM stereo sound with low distortion (0.03% mono, 0.04% stereo at 1 kHz local signals) and high signal-to-noise ratios (92 dB mono, 85 dB stereo). It includes 10 station memories and special features such as a level tone generator, switchable noise filter, and multipath display. The unit has a power consumption of 12 W, weighs 3.8 kg, and measures 435 x 72.5 x 316 mm. It outputs via RCA connectors with 500 mV for FM and 150 mV for AM. The tuner does not support RDS and lacks a remote control. It was originally priced around 750 Deutsche Marks. Users have praised its clarity, stereo imaging, and ability to pull in weak signals effectively.
