The Yamaha RX-Z9 is a premium 9.1-channel AV receiver featuring seven channels of 170 watts each and two presence channels at 50 watts each, totaling 1,290 watts of power. It supports extensive audio processing modes such as Dolby Digital, DTS, THX Ultra2, and Yamaha's proprietary HD CINEMA DSP with 51 surround programs. The receiver includes Yamaha's Automatic Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO) for precise room calibration and equalization. Video capabilities include full video conversion and upscaling with Faroudja DCDi technology, progressive scan output, and a wide range of video inputs and outputs (component, composite, S-video). It offers a comprehensive set of digital and analog audio inputs and outputs, including iLink (IEEE1394) for SACD/DVD-Audio. The RX-Z9 is designed with a heavy-duty chassis and separate chambers for high-quality sound reproduction and supports custom installation with RS-232C and extended IR codes. It weighs 66 lbs and measures approximately 17 1/8" x 8 5/16" x 18 1/2" (WxHxD).
