The Yamaha RX V-387 is a 5.1 channel AV receiver designed for home theater use. It supports 4 HDMI 1.4 inputs and 1 HDMI output with 1080p compatibility and 3D passthrough via firmware update. The receiver includes Yamaha's YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) for automatic sound calibration, and offers 17 DSP programs including Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound processing. It features Burr Brown 192kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels, Compressed Music Enhancer to improve compressed audio quality, and Adaptive Dynamic Range Control (DRC) for better sound at low volumes. Connectivity includes optical and coaxial digital inputs, analog inputs, component and composite video inputs, and a subwoofer pre-out. The unit also has an AM/FM tuner with 40 presets and SCENE functionality for quick source selection. Dimensions are approximately 435 x 151 x 315 mm and it weighs about 7.5 kg.
