About the NX-N500

The Yamaha NX-N500 is a modern powered bookshelf speaker system designed for high-resolution audio playback and versatile connectivity. It features a 2-way bi-amplified design with a 1" dome tweeter capable of reproducing frequencies up to 40 kHz and a 5" Advanced PMD (Polymer-injected Mica Diaphragm) woofer for deep, expressive bass. The speakers use discrete analog amplifiers delivering 45W to the woofer and 25W to the tweeter, providing a total power output of up to 140W. The enclosure is constructed with thick MDF and a three-way mitered-joint design to suppress resonance and ensure accurate sound reproduction. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with A2DP, Apple AirPlay, and a high-performance USB DAC supporting PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and native DSD 5.6 MHz playback. Inputs include 3.5mm analog, optical digital, and USB Type B. The system supports MusicCast multi-room audio but does not support AirPlay 2, Google Cast, or other ecosystems like Sonos or Roon. The speakers measure approximately 6.75" x 11.25" x 10.7" (W x H x D) and weigh about 12.6 lbs (right) and 13.8 lbs (left). The NX-N500 is designed to deliver studio-quality sound with smooth vocals, detailed midrange, and a wide frequency response from 54 Hz to 40 kHz (-10 dB). It includes an IR remote control and app control for iOS and Android devices. The product comes with a 2-year parts and labor warranty.
