About the M-35

The Yamaha M-35 is a Natural Sound stereo power amplifier manufactured between 1986 and 1988. It can operate as a 4-channel amplifier delivering 20 watts per channel into 8 ohms or be switched to a 2-channel bridged mode delivering 40 watts per channel. It features independent level controls for each channel to compensate for listening environment irregularities and to finely adjust surround effects. The amplifier has a damping factor of 70, total harmonic distortion of 0.015% in 4-channel mode and 0.008% in 2-channel mode, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 113 dB (4-channel) or 120 dB (2-channel). It includes 2 line inputs and 4 loudspeaker outputs, with frequency response ranging from 10 Hz to 40 kHz (4-channel) or up to 50 kHz (2-channel). The unit weighs 5 kg and measures 435 x 92.5 x 286.7 mm. It does not have remote control and consumes about 90 to 250 watts of power depending on the source. The M-35 was originally priced around 550 Deutsche Marks and is no longer manufactured.
