The Yamaha BD-S677 Blu-ray player supports playback of Blu-ray 3D discs and full HD 1080p video via HDMI output, with upconversion of DVDs to near HD quality. It features built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for internet access and network streaming, including compatibility with VUDU, YouTube Leanback, Dropbox, and Picasa Web Albums. The player supports a wide range of disc formats including BD-Video, BD-R/RE, DVD-Video, SACD, and CD-DA, as well as various file formats such as MKV, MP3, FLAC, and ALAC. It includes a 192kHz/32-bit DAC for high-quality audio and supports advanced surround sound formats like Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS-HD Master Audio. The BD-S677 also offers Miracast compatibility for streaming from smartphones or tablets and seamless integration with Yamaha AV receivers and the AV Controller App. It has two USB ports, digital optical and coaxial outputs, analog audio outputs, and a remote control input/output. The player is designed with a setup wizard and supports automatic wireless setup via WPS. Dimensions are approximately 17-1/8” x 3-3/8” x 10-1/8” and it weighs about 6 lbs. This model is discontinued but remains popular for its comprehensive feature set and region-free playback capability.
