The Yamaha Aventage RX-A1040 is a high-grade 7.2-channel AV receiver released in 2014, designed for immersive home theater and high-fidelity music playback. It features a 7-channel amplifier delivering 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms with low distortion (0.06% THD), and dynamic power up to 280W per channel at 2 ohms. The receiver supports the latest HDMI 2.0 specification with eight HDMI inputs and two outputs, enabling 4K Ultra HD pass-through and upscaling, as well as 3D video. It incorporates Yamaha's YPAO multi-point room acoustic calibration with R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) and volume adjustment, plus Anti-Resonance Technology (A.R.T.) Wedge and a rigid chassis to minimize vibration and enhance sound quality. The RX-A1040 uses ESS Sabre ES9006 Premier 192kHz/24-bit DACs on all channels for professional-quality digital audio with high dynamic range and low noise. It supports a wide range of surround sound formats including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx. Network features include built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Pandora, and DLNA for streaming music from various sources. The front panel offers USB input compatible with Apple devices and MHL HDMI input for Android devices. Control is facilitated via the included remote or Yamaha's AV Controller app for iOS and Android. The receiver also supports bi-amping, zone 2 audio and video outputs, and advanced audio features like Pure Direct mode and Compressed Music Enhancer. Dimensions are approximately 435 x 182 x 432 mm, weighing 14.9 kg, with finishes available in black or titanium.
