About the A-S501

The Yamaha A-S501 is a high-quality stereo integrated amplifier featuring 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms with very low distortion (0.019% THD). It supports 4-ohm speakers and includes Yamaha's ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) for symmetrical circuit layout and minimal distortion. The amplifier offers Pure Direct mode to bypass tone, loudness, and balance controls for the purest sound. It includes optical and coaxial digital inputs for connecting modern digital sources like TVs and Blu-ray players, six RCA audio inputs including a moving magnet phono input, subwoofer output with a 100Hz low-pass filter, and two pairs of RCA recording outputs. The unit has gold-plated speaker terminals and RCA connectors, a 1/4" headphone jack, and comes with a remote control. The chassis incorporates ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) technology with a solid base and central bar to reduce vibration. It features a custom power transformer, 12,000 µF block capacitors, and extruded aluminum heat sinks for stable power delivery. The amplifier also has a continuously variable loudness control to adjust tonal balance at any volume level. Dimensions are 17-1/8" W x 6" H x 15-1/4" D, weighing 22.7 lbs. It is designed for natural sound reproduction with high-quality parts and a sophisticated aluminum front panel design. The A-S501 includes power management with auto standby and consumes 0.5W in standby mode. It is not discontinued and remains a current model.
