The Beat MagDrive turntable by Xact Audio is a state-of-the-art direct drive turntable designed by Steve Dobbins. It features a large 3-phase AC true synchronous motor that provides extremely low vibration and drive pulsations, ensuring speed is unaffected by load changes such as stylus drag. The motor torque is adjustable via a sophisticated power supply with 13 different torque settings, allowing listeners to tailor the sound from smooth to dynamic. The turntable has an effective tonearm length of 282 mm with zero tracking error and requires no antiskate. It measures 21" wide, 16" deep, and 7.5" tall with integrated isolation feet, weighing 102 pounds without the tonearm. Speeds of 33.3 and 45 RPM are standard, with 78 RPM available on order. The system is highly regarded for its design philosophy, execution, and sonic performance, with a total system price including the Schröder LT tonearm at excluding cartridge.
