The Wyred 4 Sound DAC-2v2 SE 10th Anniversary Limited Edition is a commemorative, limited-run digital-to-analog converter based on the company's flagship DAC-2v2SE and created to mark a decade of Wyred 4 Sound's design work. It uses the ESS Sabre 9038PRO reference DAC chip on a redesigned 10th Anniversary digital board, and features a fully balanced architecture with proprietary discrete output stages and both balanced and single-ended analog outputs. The chassis is finished in special 10th Anniversary cosmetics, available in champagne silver or midnight sparkle black, with commemorative graphics, a custom red LED display, and custom lathed aluminum footers. Digital inputs include coaxial, Toslink, AES/EBU, USB, and I2S, with galvanically isolated asynchronous USB supporting PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD256 via USB or I2S. Internally, it incorporates an over-specified linear power supply with an oversized toroidal transformer, ultra-low noise discrete regulators, ultra-fast recovery Schottky diodes, premium inductors, and 88,000 uF of filtering using Wyred 4 Sound low-ESR super-cap technology for very low noise and high dynamic performance. Additional features include automatic oversampling for output filtering, defeatable 32-bit digital volume control, remote control, and home-theater bypass inputs, making it usable as a digital preamp as well as a DAC.
