About the SCS

The Wisdom Audio SCS is a compact, freestanding powered subwoofer from the Sage Series, commonly nicknamed the “Suitcase Sub” because of its unusually slim 7-inch depth and elongated form factor. It uses Wisdom Audio’s Regenerative Transmission Line (RTL) acoustic design and two custom 5 x 7.5-inch long-throw woofers, producing an equivalent active cone area of approximately 13 inches. The SCS was designed for installations where a conventional in-room subwoofer or the S90i in-wall subwoofer would not fit. Its integrated amplifier, adjustable crossover, level control, and stereo/LFE line-level inputs make it a self-contained subwoofer. The manufacturer’s published documentation contains some specification inconsistencies, notably 400 W versus 450 W rated amplifier power; the data sheet identifies the internal amplifier as 400 W, while the owner’s manual lists 450 W rated power. The current Wisdom Audio product listings prominently feature the successor or related SCS-2 rather than the original SCS, so availability of the original model should be confirmed with Wisdom Audio or a dealer.
