About the Matrix
The Wilson Benesch Matrix loudspeaker employs advanced A.C.T. 3Zero biocomposite monocoque technology combined with Poly-Alloy hybrid construction for a rigid and acoustically inert enclosure. It features a 2.5-way design with multiple 170mm (7") Wilson Benesch Tactic drivers arranged in an isobaric clamshell formation for enhanced bass response and midrange clarity. The tweeter is a 25mm (1") Fibonacci Hybrid Silk-Carbon unit with a labyrinth sealed backplate for reduced distortion. The crossover uses first and second order filters optimized for each driver section. The enclosure integrates reflex port tuning with laminar flow guides and infinite baffle sealed chambers for different driver ranges. The Matrix delivers a frequency response from approximately 34Hz to 30kHz with a nominal impedance of 6 Ohms and sensitivity around 89dB at 1 meter with 2.83V input. Dimensions are roughly 1425mm height, 191mm baffle width, and 480mm depth, weighing about 75kg. The design emphasizes low coloration, precise imaging, and dynamic range, suitable for audiophile and high-fidelity applications.
