The Wilson Audio Submerge Powered is a large, active, front-ported subwoofer designed to reproduce the lowest two octaves of the audible range with very high output and low distortion. It uses a proprietary 12-inch (305 mm) high-excursion dual-spider woofer, a rigid X-Material/V-Material enclosure, custom DSP, and an integrated Class D amplifier rated at 1,600 watts. The rear panel provides balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs in left/right and mono configurations, along with adjustable low-pass filtering, delay, gain, phase, and room-EQ functions. Wilson Audio describes the amplifier response as 5 Hz–500 Hz, while the owner’s manual specifies the subwoofer’s operating low-pass range as 20 Hz–100 Hz. Published measurements and specifications differ depending on whether amplifier bandwidth, system response, or laboratory limits are being quoted.
