About the 10GA
Western Electric 10GA Speaker Cables are tinned copper wires with a lacquered cotton braid covering, designed as twisted pair speaker cables. They are twice as thick and have four times the cross-sectional area compared to the famous WE16GA cables, making them especially effective for bass and midrange frequencies. Originally developed for telephone wiring, these cables have become legendary in the audiophile community for their vintage studio-quality sound. The cables are sold in stereo pairs, typically in 3-meter or 8-foot lengths, and are highly regarded for their durability and sonic performance. The wire construction includes stranded, tin-coated copper conductors conforming to ASTM standards, with PVC insulation rated for 85°C and a lacquered cotton braid jacket. These cables are UL listed and RoHS compliant, suitable for high-quality loudspeaker hookups.
