The Wavelength Audio Brick V3 is a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that uses asynchronous USB technology to minimize jitter by establishing its own transfer rates independent of the computer's clock. It retains the 12AU7/ECC82 Reactor Follower vacuum tube output stage, providing a warm, full-bodied midrange and smooth sound without brightness or digititis. The DAC uses a multi-bit DAC IC with a single resistor for passive current-to-voltage conversion, ensuring linearity across the audio band. It supports 16-bit audio at 32kHz, 44.1kHz, and 48kHz sample rates. The unit is built with high-quality components, including hand-selected tantalum resistors and custom-wound transformers to keep output impedance low. The Brick V3 is housed in a sturdy chassis with a burled wood faceplate and brushed aluminum top plate, weighing approximately 3 lbs. It includes an external Mortar power supply and features a tube output stage that powers down when the computer is off or in sleep mode to preserve tube life.
