About the 27ix
The Wadia 27ix is a third-generation Wadia DAC/decoding computer based on the original Wadia 27, with 24-bit digital processing, digital-domain volume control, and support for up to 96 kHz sample rates. It offers six digital inputs—2 ST glass-fiber optical, 2 BNC coaxial S/PDIF, 1 TosLink optical, and 1 AES/EBU XLR—and both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs that can be used simultaneously. The unit uses Wadia's DigiMaster processing and RockLok jitter-reduction circuitry, and was sold as an audiophile DAC intended for direct connection to power amplifiers or use with the Wadia 270 transport.
