The VTL TL-2.5i Performance Preamplifier is an all-tube line stage preamplifier designed to deliver high resolution and musicality with a simple circuit topology and top-quality parts. It features 6 line inputs, user-selectable gain settings (8dB or 14dB), and an optional internally retrofittable phono stage supporting MM and MC cartridges with selectable load and gain. The phono stage uses a low-noise hybrid JFET design and offers an MC step-up transformer option for lowest noise and improved RF interference filtering. The TL-2.5i is hand-built in California and designed to integrate easily into home theater systems with remote operation and processor pass-through functionality. It offers sonic performance close to VTL's higher-end TL-5.5II model but at a more competitive price point.
