About the MW1 Cyclone
The VPI MW-1 Cyclone Record Cleaning Machine, designed by Mat Weisfeld to honor the HW-16.5 and his father Harry, features bidirectional scrubbing and vacuuming at 18 RPM to thoroughly clean record grooves. Housed in a durable, waterproof aluminum case with a welded stainless steel water tank that drains from the back, it includes professional-grade toggle switches rated for 100,000 cycles, a high-torque turntable motor built to last decades, and a vacuum motor powerful enough to lift mercury 120 inches. Components are heavy-duty industrial quality, including a 2-inch Delrin knurled record clamp. It is quieter (20dB less than HW-16.5) and more robust, with a motor that withstands heavy brush pressure without slowing. Cleaning a record side takes under 30-60 seconds, leaving it dry and static-free. Removable dust cover and sealed design prevent mess. Currently manufactured and available.
