The VPI Industries Scout Master II turntable combines key features from several successful VPI models. It uses the Classic platter and inverted bearing, a larger steel Scout motor assembly with a fused IEC socket, and a 300-RPM 24 pole AC synchronous motor. The chassis is a dual Scout design with a steel center, providing stability and reduced resonance. It offers excellent speed accuracy, low rumble, and minimal wow and flutter, making it a precision instrument for audiophiles. The turntable weighs approximately 24.5 kg and measures 483 x 356 mm. It is manual operation with belt drive and is highly regarded for its sonic performance and build quality. The Scout Master II is often paired with the JMW 9 tonearm for enhanced playback quality.
